behind the studio

RCD Interiors is led by Rachel — a designer with over a decade of experience shaping spaces that feel both considered and lived in.

Her career began in editorial, styling for Home Beautiful magazine, where she developed a sharp eye for composition, detail and the power of a well-resolved space — how light changes everything, and why the right texture in the wrong place can undo an entire room. Wanting to move beyond the page, she transitioned into interior design, combining formal training with hands-on industry experience.

Today, Rachel brings that dual perspective into every project — balancing creativity with practicality to create homes that feel effortless, personal and enduring.

Outside of work, she spends as much time outdoors as possible, endlessly inspired by the Australian landscape — the red earth, the silver ocean at sunset, the way nature just gets colour in a way no trend forecast ever does. A devoted vintage hunter and lifelong fan of mid-century design, she's drawn to the honesty of the materials and the clean, unfussy lines that never go out of fashion. There's a lesson in that for every project she takes on. Good design doesn't need to chase trends — it just needs to be true to the people living in it.
